The objective of the module is familiarisation with environmental issues in the process industries, as well as methodologies to analyse and reduce environmental impacts.

Legislative and Economic Aspects of Cleaner Production Milestones in legislation. Industry initiatives. Impact-cost relationships. Profitability issues. Environmental management systems.
Industrial Ecology Basic concepts. Role of market analysis. Analysis of material and energy flows. Transport and storage of raw materials and products. Site-integrated manufacturing.
